Nissan GT-R LM NISMO Specs Detailed

Nissan has released new information about its Le Mans 24 Hours competitor.

Competing this weekend in the LM P1 class, the Nissan GT-R LM NISMO will be quite different than the rest of the race cars with its 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine sitting in the front of the front-wheel-drive car. Hybrid power will be harvested from the front driveline to augment acceleration, according to Nissan. The groundbreaking new racer made its debut earlier this year at the Chicago Auto Show and will have its powertrain mated to a five-speed + reverse sequential gearbox with pneumatic paddle shift system. It’ll tip the scales at the FIA homologated weight of 1,918 lbs and will boast carbon-composite body panels along with a polycarbonate windscreen and an adjustable rear wing.

Handling suspension duties is a set of Ohlins multi-adjustable front dampers paired with Penske multi-adjustable rear dampers, along with a hydraulic rear anti-roll bar. Up front will be six-piston brake calipers while the rear sports four-piston units that will be concealed by BBS center-lock, magnesium forged wheels 18×13 inch in the front and 16×9 inch in the rear.

The Japanese automaker also revealed measurements on the race car, which is 4.645 meters long, 1.9 meters wide and 1.03 meters tall. It will have a fuel tank capacity of 68 liters or about 18 gallons.
